Monthly Livestream #16!

Thanks for a great livestream this afternoon! For those that couldn't make it, here's the recording from this afternoon.

I started off with a few tunes: "Memories of Tomorrow" by Keith Jarrett, then a tune of mine called "Backstep".

Then had a bunch of great questions: starting with one about how I like to learn tunes (and the important similarities between learning our own music and learning other people's music), then another one about getting beyond the notes and unlocking more expressiveness in our playing, one of my personal favorite records, a bit about improvising in 3 voices (shout out to the great Fred Hersch, whose brilliant masterclass on Open Studio I blatantly lifted from in order to answer this question!), one way to vary rhythms in our playing, and one last question about approaching ballads. We covered a lot of ground!
