Monthly Livestream #17!

Thanks for tuning in to today's livestream! Had a great time, some very thoughtful and inspiring questions, and people tuning in from all over the world: Japan, Italy, California, and of course many fellow east coasters.

I started off with a standard "A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square", then the Joe Henderson tune "Serenity". Then moved into some questions - first about playing over a one-chord vamp, then about tritone substitutions: when to use them and when not to (and I got a chance to play a bit from an amazing record "Mingus Plays Piano"!), the perils of playing med.slow swing tempos, then about composing (and I actually took a page out of Chick Corea's book and composed something during the stream), a question about the flexibility of swing in 8th note lines, and a closed with a few ideas about arranging. We covered a lot of ground!

Thanks as always, and looking forward to next month! Always my best from Brooklyn,

Glenn
