Monthly Livestream #29!

Thanks for tuning in to today's livestream! I started off with a few tunes - first was "Pastorale", a newer composition from the great Fred Hersch, then a standard "Love Walked In", by George Gershwin.

Then into a bunch of great questions: First was one about walking basslines with your left hand (which I was doing on Love Walked In), including some things to do, some not to do, and some to try. Then into a question about playing intros, about memorizing, about incorporating transcriptions into your playing (spoiler: it basically just takes a long long time...), about putting set lists together, about playing melodies in octaves and "filled in" octaves, a breakdown of some of the harmonic devices I like to use on Con Alma, and finally a quick breakdown of a rhythmic exercise I like to practice.
